Walk-a-thon

CCA offers a high-quality private education at very affordable tuition rates. In order to offset the tuition rates, we have two important fundraising events, one of which is the annual Walk-a-thon.

The Walk-a-thon is a school-wide event during which students, parents, staff, friends and even some grandparents walk, run, talk and pray their way around Worton Park. During the walk, stations are available for the enjoyment of the participants including a healthy snack station, activity station, prayer station, candy station, picture station and beverage station. After the fundraising walk, everyone enjoys a lunch together at the park (sponsored by some of our local businesses: Acme, Rite Aid, Royal Farms, Sam's Club, Walgreens, Walmart and the State Highway Administration), and the students play games for the afternoon. It is a very enjoyable day and a great way to thank the students and participants for their hard work raising support for our school.

The walking distance is about 2 miles (3500 yards), and the participants send out flyers to family, friends, and local businesses to raise support (1¢ per yard = $35; 5¢ per yard = $175; 10¢ per yard = $350). Each participant has a goal of raising $500 in donations for their walk. The students also receive increasingly attractive prizes for raising $250, $500, $1000, or $2000.

This fundraiser is vital to a healthy growing school, and we encourage all of our students, parents, staff, friends, supporters, and alumni to be involved by donating, participating and raising donations, and/or volunteering your time to help with the logistics of a fun and important event.
